Neighborhood Park

Washington Park is a large neighborhood park bordered by North and South Park Streets, Walnut and Chapel Streets. The park offers a large lawn with picnic tables making it perfect for an afternoon outdoors. Playground equipment, sandboxes, and a basketball court make this neighborhood park an excellent place to visit on a nice day.

Washington Park is also walking distance from Beard Park, and the Fayetteville library.

Park History
Washington Park is one of the oldest, continuously used parks in the Village of Fayetteville appearing in its current shape on maps from both 1860 and 1874. The large maple trees that remain today are over a century in age and exist from a planting of approximately 20 maples that once adorned the park.
