Please note: No debris pickups in November - only leaf & brush pickup [Please keep leaf pile separated from brush. Thank you!]
Trash/recycling pickup generally begins at 7:00 A.M. Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday (earlier at 6 AM in summer!) so please be sure to place at curb BY 7:00 A.M. Thank you!
Trash/Debris is curbside pick up only -- Please do not bring trash/debris to the DPW garage; there is no dumping allowed.
Please be mindful - Trash needs to be bagged and tied up. Many people are leaving a lot of loose trash in the cans, including a lot of tissues, latex gloves* and paper towels from sanitizing that could have the virus. For the health & safety of the DPW crews, and your fellow neighbors, please dispose of your trash properly and responsibly. Help us help you.
*No matter what type of gloves, (latex, nitrile, vinyl), they are not recyclable. Put them in the trash. Gloves that end up in recycling contaminate good recyclables and can turn entire bales of material into trash.Protect yourself from COVID-19 by wearing gloves; protect the environment by keeping all gloves out of the recycling bin or cart. Click here to see what is recyclable.
Thank you!
Televisions & electronics cannot be picked up by village DPW. Please contact OCRRA for disposal or watch for periodic Electronic Recycling Events!
For Questions on electronics, insecticides, batteries, paints or hazardous waste, Please call the Onondaga County Resource Recovery (OCRRA) Hotline at 453-2870 or visit the OCRRA website.
