VILLAGE OF FAYETTEVILLE
NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION
SUBJECT TO PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a regular meeting held on the 19th day of July, 2021 the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Fayetteville, Onondaga County, New York, duly adopted the following resolution:
RESOLUTION PROVIDING THAT VILLAGE ELECTIONS
SHALL BE CONDUCTED BY THE COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS
WHEREAS, Section 15-104 of the Election Law of the State of New York empowers the Board of Trustees to “adopt a resolution subject to a permissive referendum as provided in Article Nine of the Village Law providing the village elections shall be conducted by the Boards of Elections”; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of Trustees of the Village of Fayetteville that the Onondaga County Board of Elections is dedicated to conducting elections and therefore adopting such a resolution is appropriate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Fayetteville, in regular session duly convened as follows:
- Commencing in the year 2022, the annual election in the Village of Fayetteville, New York for the election of all elective Village Officers shall be held and conducted by the Onondaga County Board of Elections.
- This Resolution shall be subject to a permissive referendum by Village Law Article 9, Section 9-902.
Said resolution shall take effect thirty days after adoption unless there shall be filed with the Village Clerk at petition signed and acknowledged by the electors of the village in number equal to at least twenty percent of electors in the village as shown on the register of electors for the previous general election, protesting against such act or resolution and requesting that it be submitted to the electors of the village for their approval or disapproval.
