Minutes of the Village of Fayetteville Board of Trustees meeting held Monday July 8, 2009 at 7:00 am.
Mayor Olson called the meeting to order at 7:00 am in the Board Room of the Fayetteville Village Hall.
Mayor Olson led those present in a recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.
ABSTRACT #2
Trustee Small made a motion to approve Abstract #2 in the amount of $123,784.91 Trustee Kinsella seconded the motion and it was carried by unanimous vote.
SYRACUSE SYMPHONY
Trustee Small made a motion to authorize Mayor Olson to sign a contract with the Syracuse Symphony to perform Saturday July 18, 2009 at 8:00pm at Beard Park. Trustee Coleman seconded the motion and it was carried by unanimous vote.
FAYETTEVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT BUILDING PERMIT
Mayor Olson explained to the board that the Fire Department is applying for a Stimulus Grant for the Fire Department renovation project. Part of the application requires that the department get all of the necessary permits from the municipality that will be needed for the renovation project, which includes a building permit. Therefore the Village Board needs to authorize the Fayetteville Fire Department to make application to the Code Enforcement Officer for a building permit.
Trustee Small made a motion to authorize Mayor Olson to sign a building permit application for the Fayetteville Fire Department Renovation/Construction project. Trustee Kinsella seconded the motion and it was passed by unanimous vote.
FIRE DEPARTMENT APPLICATIONS
Trustee Small made a motion to accept Kip Williams application for the Fayetteville Fire Department, pending a background invitation. Trustee Randall seconded the motion and it was carried by unanimous vote.
Trustee Small made a motion to accept Richard Tait application for the Fayetteville Fire Department, pending a background invitation. Trustee Randall seconded the motion and it was carried by unanimous vote.
RFP CONSTRUCTION MANAGER
Mayor Olson asked the board to review the RFP specifications for a Construction Manager. Mayor Olson will be putting this on the next meeting agenda and would like to go out for proposal after the July 20, 2009 meeting.
AUGUST VILLAGE BOARD MEETING
Mayor Olson explained that the Village Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals will be holding meetings on Monday August 17 therefore the Village Board of Trustees will need to reschedule their meeting.
It was agreed that the August meeting will be held on Wednesday August 19, 2009 at 6:00 pm.
FAYETTEVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT SAFETY TRAILER RENTAL
Chief Hildreth requested that the board allow him to rent a Fire Safety Trailer for the Fayetteville First Festival. The safety trailer is a walk-through trailer that provides simulated fire scenes that would provide education.
Trustee Kinsella suggested that Chief Hildreth talk with the school and see if they may be interested in using the trailer as part of a fire prevention class.
Trustee Small made a motion to allow the Fayetteville Fire Department to rent a Fire Safety Trailer for the Fayetteville First Festival. Trustee Coleman seconded the motion and it was carried by unanimous vote.
Trustee Small made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:30am. Trustee Coleman seconded the motion and it was carried by unanimous vote.
